چکیده
The main objective of this article is to present a new approach model coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical problems considering geomaterials with heterogeneous properties. This has been implemented in the software CODE_BRIGHT and it provides possibility spatially correlated field porosity, following normal distribution. spatial correlation can be isotropic or anisotropic. An important feature that material properties such as intrinsic permeability, thermal conductivity, diffusivity, retention curve, elastic modulus cohesion are defined function porosity and, thus, they become eventually, A validation exercise other basic numerical examples have carried out illustrate possibilities proposed approach. results, which compared homogeneous case, show fields relevant different modelling problems, especially problems.

A Pore-scale Hydro-mechanical Coupled Model for Geomaterials
We present a model for fluid-saturated granular media coupled flow and mechanical deformation. The fluid is assumed to be incompressible and the solid part is assumed to be a cohesive granular material. Forces exerted by the fluid in motion are determinated and applied to solid particles. We derive a finite volumes formulation of the flow problem and we couple it to a discrete element method (D...
متن کاملThermo-hydro-mechanical Coupling in Clay Barriers
A complete thermo-hydro-mechanical model is presented to tackle the complex coupling problems encountered in clay barriers. A detailed formulation coupling the heat, moisture (liquid water and water vapour) and, air transfer in a deformable unsaturated soil is given. The formulation of the AlonsoGens’s mechanical model for unsaturated soil is also incorporated. The sensitivity to some parameter...
متن کاملCoupled thermo-hydro-mechanical model for porous materials under frost action: theory and implementation
This paper introduces the development and implementation of a multiphysical model to simulate the coupled hydro-thermo-mechanical processes in freezing unsaturated porous materials. The model couples the Fourier’s law for heat transfer, the generalized Richards’ equation for fluid transfer in unsaturated media, and the mechanical constitutive relationship. Coupling parameters were defined to tr...
متن کاملHydro-mechanical model for wetting/drying and fracture development in geomaterials
This paper presents a modeling approach for studying hydro-mechanical coupled processes, including fracture development, within geological formations. This is accomplished through the novel linking of two codes: TOUGH2, which is a widely used simulator of subsurface multiphase flow based on the finite volume method; and an implementation of the Rigid-BodySpring Network (RBSN) method, which prov...
متن کاملA Coupled Elastoplastic Damage Model for Geomaterials
A triaxial constitutive model is developed for elastoplastic behavior of geomaterials, which accounts for tensile damage. The constitutive setting is formulated in the framework of continuum thermodynamics using internal variables. The interaction of elastic damage and plastic flow is examined with the help of very simple constitutive assumptions: (i) a Drucker-Prager yield function is used to ...
